The ants finally felt it was time to move house today. Arriving home from work we were greeted with the sight of the ground around our house swarming with flying ants. I presume the fact that today was the first really warm, humid day we’ve had this summer kick-started their hormones into action.
For those with an interest in things entomological, it is worth noting that the flying ants were noticeably smaller this year. Probably a result of the frequent floodings their nests have received recently. I presume they were taking no chances and getting out while the going was good…
